GENERAL SUMMARY :

The Healthcare Design and Construction Project Manager II (PMII) works under the Healthcare Design of Construction Project Manager Sr. II on all projects assigned. The PMII is responsible for leading the design and construction process and managing the use of consultants, vendors and contractors on multiple projects as assigned, interfacing with hospital executives, clinical and engineering staff, management of regulatory compliance, and commissioning of the building. Accurate and timely planning, analysis and execution of multiple small projects, including one or two design-to-construction projects, with budgets in excess of $20 million dollars. Oversees the preparation of time and cost estimates for assigned projects, tracks projects against proposed timelines, updates project information to reflect actual progress, and escalates encountered situations to the appropriate area with detailed and accurate information. This role partners closely with AdventHealth team members, consultant designers, contractors, vendors, and other professionals throughout the project life cycle. The PMII actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

· Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork.

· Utilizes pre-construction understanding of operational considerations, consistently assesses project risks and formulates mitigation plans as needed. Successfully develops and updates project budgets as required utilizing “Project Budget Tracking Form.” Delivers projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner in accordance with the approved project scope.

· Effectively collaborates on multiple projects. Leads project evaluation meetings and administrative reviews from conception to completion. Monitors the negotiation and bidding process; develops, manages, and delivers a project change control process as needed to ensure project team operates within the scope and change approval process.

· Coordinates the work of the Project Coordinator to assure the project is progressing appropriately, frequently visits job site throughout construction.

· Monitors contractor activities for compliance with project budget and specification requirements and is involved in the Change Order and Pay App process.

· Accurately manages multiple projects simultaneously. Effectively prepares and presents technical and/or educational documentation of assigned projects to enhance the knowledge of our customers and team members affected.

· Actively participates in internal and/or external training programs, staying current and compliant on application or technical skills applicable to assigned duties.

· Follows established procedures of the Office of Design and Construction.

· Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Office of Design and Construction.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

· Excellent project management skills to manage multiple mid-sized healthcare projects

· Knowledge of healthcare planning, design and construction techniques

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contracts

· Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills

· Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with and manage multi-faceted teams

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

· Comfortable in making presentations to management and customers

· Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED :

· Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar project management program

· Proficient in e-Builder software program

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management or related field, AND/OR equivalent years of experience

· Seven years’ progressively responsible design and construction project management experience with five years focused on healthcare.

· Experience with AHCA regulations, JCAHO/DNV standards, and other applicable codes of the construction industry

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :

· Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management or related field

· Seven years’ healthcare design and construction project management experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :

· N/A

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED :

· Current State of Florida License in Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction-related Engineering

· General Contracting License

· Project management certification
