Waste Connections has an immediate position available for a Junior Equipment Operator/General Labourer/Scale Admin at our Ottawa Transfer Station. The main duties will be labour related and will involve some operation of heavy equipment, general facility maintenance, and Scale/Admin coverage with and around the public. Candidates with some heavy equipment experience (Loaders or forklifts) will be an asset.

Rate: $26.00/hr.

Shift: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm (possible Saturday requirements with needs of the business)

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning in and around the site perimeter

• Maintaining the site equipment as required.

• Spotting duties

• Cleaning in and around the scales.

• Basic computer knowledge/Operation of scales

• Entry level heavy equipment operations

• Machine Maintenance

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Valid G Class drivers license

• Ability to be self directed as well as work in a team environment

• Ability to work in all weather conditions

• Must pass pre-employment background check.

As a condition of employment, all new employees to safety sensitive positions must successfully pass a substance test within a two-week period of their hiring date.
