Senior Quality Specialist-Onsite Position

We are looking for a Senior Quality Specialist to join our world-class manufacturing and design facility in Ottawa, Ontario!

As our Senior Quality Specialist, you will provide Quality Assurance support within Curtiss Wright Defense Solutions. You will be responsible for Supplier Quality systems, Quality Assurance in the product development process, and customer interaction on Quality issues. In addition, you will provide Quality System leadership in support of our AS9100 certification, supporting internal audits, the CAR procedure, statistical data analysis and metric generation . A background in electronics manufacturing and experience with IPC 610-D Class 3 requirements will enable you to provide guidance on acceptable standards for products shipping from Defense Solutions.

Your Challenge:

• Representing the CWDS QA department for Defense Solutions

• Representing Quality in business Projects as required including Improvement Projects and Corrective Actions

• Supporting AS9100/ ISO9001 certification via internal audits and Quality System maintenance

• Providing QA/SQA support on product development projects out of Defense Solutions business units

• Performing supplier quality functions including performing quality audits and administering the SCAR process

• Providing customer single point contact for quality CWDS programs

• Supporting ESD, MSD, 5S & ROHS Management programs as required

• Supporting product yield investigations through the 8D CAR process where required

• Providing QA support on the implementation of Configuration Management Activities

• Contributing to and participating in periodic Quality Reviews

• Developing and completing statistical analysis

What You Bring:

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience dealing with PWB and PCBA design

• 7-10 years experience in an electronics design & manufacturing company

• Experience with the implementation and maintenance of AS9100 applied to product development and manufacture

• Knowledgeable in the interpretation and application of the following standards: J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610 Rev D Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721

• 8D or other structured problem solving methodology

• Product Reliability, Maintainability, Durability methodology

• ESD and MSD Control Requirements

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

• Understanding of the required Engineering Documents for PCBA manufacturing and electronics assembly

• Understanding of configuration management (CM)

• Experience with SAP or another MRP is an asset

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Experience dealing with remote teams in multi-site environments

• AS9006 and/or CMMI experience are considered assets
