Summary

The Senior Supply Planner is responsible for executing the supply and distribution plans for a subset of finished goods in North America, ensuring overall integration of production capacities, processes, and programs. The Senior Supply Planner is part of a small team of planners that drives company results by optimizing cash flow performance via customer service needs and inventory management. This position supports process improvement, maintains current business metrics, and measures Supply Chain performance. A heavy emphasis on accountability, collaboration with supply chain stakeholders, and a strategic mindset will be critical to success in this role.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinates resources to create and execute valid production and distribution plans with consideration for plant and supply chain constraints, and proactively communicates changes to plans.

  • Owns the short-term production planning horizon in the Retail space, and influences the plant schedule through collaboration with Commercial and Operations stakeholders.

  • Owns the long-term distribution planning horizon in the Highway space for managed plants, in collaboration with mine scheduling and Logistics.

  • Monitors and manages exceptions to production attainment through collaboration with plant scheduling.

  • Manages order book for assigned plant portfolio, including balancing available shipping capacity against order volume.

  • Manages assigned distribution center inventory targets through timely and accurate deployment of transfer shipments from assigned plants.

  • Implements APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) principles and Supply Chain Planning best practices to drive continuous improvement.

  • Leads and/or supports projects related to supply chain integration, materials systems, and production planning to achieve world-class performance.

  • Collaborates with other functional departments on topics ranging from Forecasting, Sales, Quality, New Products, Distribution, Information Systems, Master Data, Inventory Control, Production, and Logistics.

  • Travel up to 10%.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or Logistics.

  • 4 years of relevant work experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement may substitute the Bachelor’s degree requirement.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations, Production Planning, or Materials Management required.

  • APICS CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management) Certification is preferred.
