Steele County Sheriff Patrol Deputy (Lateral or Entry) FULL TIME in Owatonna, Minnesota
Full Time - Non Exempt - Benefit & Pension Eligible The Steele County Sheriff s Office is dedicated to protect and serve the citizen s of Steele County and support their quality of life. We coordinate the efforts of the emergency and support services to provide the highest level of responsiveness possible. Applicants with prior law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply and can be given lateral entry pay. Incentives: Shift Differential ($1.00 per hour), Uniform Allowance ($975), Holiday Pay and potential for overtime Can use vacation time after successful completion of FTO; also accrue sick time Take home squad car within County limits or within 5 miles of Steele County line 2026 will receive COLA County will contribute to HSA/VEBA $1,700 for single or $3,500 for family (if you take our Medical insurance that is provided by Medica); other benefits also available Enhanced trainings; Public Student Loan Forgiveness Under the direction of the Sergeant, the Patrol Deputy is responsible for enforcing all federal, state and local laws, statutes, and ordinances within the County to serve and protect citizens of the County and to promote public safety. Duties of the Patrol Deputy include such major responsibilities as patrolling assigned portions of the County; enforcing laws and regulations; traffic and DUI enforcement; serving civil process papers; responding to civil or criminal complaints, disturbances or emergency assistance; conducting accident investigations; or other assignments, as delegated.
