Job Description
This team supports compliance risk for general lending and compliance, CBBO default operations, and supports all of 3rd party assessments for fair and responsible banking and all of operations, and other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals, and RCA Managers to, depending on their function, create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework. Leads projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Identifies gaps and inform solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. Identifies, responds and/or escalates risks as appropriate. Serves as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense. A successful candidate in this role will be effective at navigating through simultaneous delivery of multiple complex projects as well as demonstrate excellence and efficiency in workforce management objectives. They will define and drive delivery of risk management priorities across Operations Compliance Risk and with attention to critical partnerships outside of Operations (CBBO Default, Strategic Outsourced Services, Risk Management & Compliance) necessary to effectuate implementation and response. The candidate in this role should be curious and stay on top of emerging trends, regulatory topics, and the risk environment within which we operate. They should be comfortable questioning existing processes and solutions and display a keen sense of business value. They should also display problem-solving skills, thrive when working across teams, and be an expert in dealing with ambiguity.
Overview
As a Global Operations Compliance Consultant, this role will play a critical part in ensuring that our operations adhere to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. The team proactively provides support and guidance for compliance-related questions and concerns and serves as a business champion when interacting with SLOD partners, auditors, and regulators. The Global Operations Compliance risk role collaborates with key business units, other Operations Risk, and Second Line of Defense (SLOD) partners to identify, measure, monitor, and control Compliance Risk. For key high-risk Federal Compliance Regulations, such as Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act – Regulation X, Truth in Lending Act – Regulation Z, Fair Credit Reporting Act – Regulation V, Equal Credit Opportunity Act – Regulation B, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, Electronic Fund Transfer Act – Regulation E, Flood Disaster Protection Act, and Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, this team performs risk oversight and monitoring routines to proactively identify emerging risks and verify ongoing compliance. Significant focus is placed on evaluating the controls listed in the Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment (ECRA) to determine whether the risks are properly mitigated. Additionally work involving review of Compliance Material Review Approval (CMRA) is required in this role. The team is expected to develop and maintain a strong understanding of the associated processes and controls in place to ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance, risk management and operational processes, along with excellent reporting and analytical skills.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Typically more than ten years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
A strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of Federal Compliance Regulations
Professional certifications (CRCM) or Regulatory Agency experience preferred
Requires an advanced-level knowledge and understanding of: Applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends for Federal Compliance Regulations, such as the rules listed above
Control identification and evaluation activities to determine whether the control suite properly mitigates the associated Compliance Risk
Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
Analytical thinking, including the ability to analyze complex information, identify patterns, and draw meaningful insights from complex factual situations
Excellent presentation, relationship building, and written and verbal communication skills
Strong process facilitation, project management, and critical thinking skills
Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $116,280.00 - $136,800.00 - $150,480.00
