University of Mississippi Instructional Asst Professor or Instructor/Biology in Oxford, Mississippi

This Position is for an Instructional Assistant Professor or Instructor (Department of Biology) with a public university work location in University, MS.

Position Description

The Department of Biology at the University of Mississippi (UM) is seeking an Instructional Assistant Professor (IAP) or Instructor who will be responsible for teaching courses in microbiology for non-majors and one of the following courses: human anatomy and physiology or introductory biology for non-majors. The IAP/instructor will also participate in department recruitment events and provide departmental faculty service. This position is a nine-month academic year, non-tenure track appointment, with promotion possibilities. IAP/ Instructor contracts are subject to renewal on an annual basis.  

Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction of non-majors courses and will be expected to participate in department recruitment events and provide departmental faculty service.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have either a Ph.D. (preferred, for Instructional Assistant Professor) or an M.S. degree (for Instructor) in Biology or a related field. They must also have experience in teaching microbiology and human anatomy and physiology courses for non-majors and demonstrate a commitment to pedagogical innovation and inclusivity in the classroom.
