This Position is for an Operations Coordinator I/II with a public university work location in University, MS.
Definition of Class
Operations Coordinator I
This position coordinates the daily operations of assigned areas to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The incumbent assists in the preparation of agendas, correspondence, and calendars; processes departmental SAP requirements; and compiles information and prepares reports for internal use.
Operations Coordinator II
This position coordinates the daily operations and fiscal affairs of the department. The incumbent monitors the departmental budget; coordinates conferences, seminars, or other special events; and identifies issues in operational processes and ensures they are resolved.
Examples of Work Performed
Coordinates the daily operations of the department.
Completes departmental SAP requirements such as facility and telecommunications work orders.
Corresponds with vendors to make purchases and reconcile invoices.
Prepares, tracks, and monitors accounts payable and receivable documents for the department.
Participates in the production, duplication, and distribution of various materials.
Assists in the preparation of agendas and routine office functions such as correspondence and calendar maintenance.
Maintains timelines for job completion and monitors completion of tasks.
Collects payments and makes deposits, and prepares cash reports for the department.
Updates departmental website and digital signage, as needed.
Organizes and maintains financial and personnel files.
Posts events through the University event management program.
Assists with coordinating special projects for the office and other projects as assigned.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

1. Coordinates the daily operations and fiscal affairs of the department.
2. Monitors departmental budget.

4. Identifies issues in operational processes and ensures they are resolved.
Minimum Education/Experience
Operations Coordinator I
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
AND
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Operations Coordinator II
Education:
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience:
Two (2) years of experience related to above described duties.
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
