Granville Medical Center Human Resources Generalist in Oxford, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist will be primarily responsible for coordinating and administering HR functions including recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training/development and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other employee benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. • Educate new hires on the company’s benefits offerings and enrollment processes, providing clear communication to enhance understanding. • Plan, organize, and execute open enrollment events, ensuring employees have the resources to make informed decisions. • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees’ questions or issues related to benefits, facilitating resolutions in a timely manner. • Design and implement programs to enhance workplace culture, including wellness programs, recognition initiatives, and team-building activities. • Participate in the development and distribution of engagement surveys, and collaborate with leadership to analyze results and identify opportunities for improvement. • Plan, coordinate and manage events such as employee recognition, holiday parties, and milestone celebrations to boost morale and strengthen relationships. • Track and analyze data related to employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity, providing actionable recommendations to leadership. • Collaborate with hiring managers to create welcoming and engaging onboarding experiences that integrate new employees into the company culture. • Serve as a bridge between employees and management, ensuring open communication and addressing concerns related to benefits and engagement. • Recommend updates or enhancements to the company’s benefits and engagement strategies.

• Interprets and assists in administering the employee benefit and leave programs and policies (FMLA, ADA, PTO, Disability, Retirement, etc); assists with administering the worker’s compensation program and workplace safety initiatives. Assists in processing employee benefit information such as medical, dental, vision, etc. • Assists employees with HR-related questions and/or concerns and resolves any issues in a timely manner; provides appropriate follow-up with employees. • Complies with federal, state and local reporting requirements. Prepares and files all appropriate personnel reports/data. • Maintains all personnel files; ensures accuracy of employee data in the information systems; enters and updates employee records. • Tracks and verifies all professional licensures/certifications through primary sources; ensures proper documentation is obtained prior to expiration. • Provides timely notification and tracking of all performance evaluations. • Provides consultation on human resource management issues to include: staffing, employee relations, performance management, dispute resolution, compliance and integrity, policy administration, benefits administration, training and providing guidance on company policies and procedures in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. • Identifies issue and/or policy violations and recommends solutions to HR Leadership. Accurately and consistently conveys, interprets and applies personnel policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three (3) years human resources generalist experience.

  • Experience in benefits administration

  • Solid knowledge of employment law, policies and practices as well as benefits, leave of absences, compensation principles and recruiting practices.

  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to compile and analyze employment data; ability to identify patterns and trends.

  • Ability to effectively resolve problems and issues; ensures proper and timely follow up on issues.

  • Ability to use independent judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or governmental law

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees, vendors, public and governmental agencies.

  • Ability to analyze issues and propose solutions.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management and vendors.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to manage and maintain confidentiality.

    Preferred:

    • PHR/SPHR Certification • Experience in a healthcare setting
