Job Description: Goff Welding truck mechanic, also known as a diesel mechanic or\ heavy duty truck mechanic, performs a variety of tasks to maintain and repair\ company work trucks :
? Fleet Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company\ vehicles
? Inspection: Perform technical inspections of vehicles to identify issues and\ diagnose faults.
? Equipment & Tools Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment and\ tools to ensure they are in good working order. Perform regular calibration and\ servicing as needed.
? Facility Maintenance: Conduct maintenance and repairs on the facility, including\ HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building upkeep.
? Preventive Maintenance: Follow the preventive maintenance schedule for vehicles,\ equipment, and facilities. Identify potential issues before they lead to equipment\ failure.
? Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and\ hydraulic issues on various types of machinery and equipment. Utilize technical\ manuals, schematics, and tools to perform repairs.
? Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while\ performing maintenance tasks. Ensure work areas are clean and free from hazards.
? Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including\ work performed, parts used, and any issues encountered. Update maintenance logs\ and reports.
? Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and other team\ members to prioritize tasks and complete work orders ef?iciently. Communicate any\ major issues or repairs needed to the Maintenance Manager.
? Emergency Response: Be available to respond to maintenance emergencies,\ ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
? Inspection: Perform technical inspections of vehicles to identify issues and\ diagnose faults
? Perform care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking ?luid levels,\ rotating tires
? Repair: Repair and replace malfunctioning or worn parts and components,\ including engines, transmissions, steering, and brakes, brake pads, wheel bearings,\ sensors- any basic work truck upkeep.
? Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and care, such as changing oil, checking
luid levels, and rotating tires.
? Testing: Test-drive vehicles to ensure they run smoothly
Installation: Install, repair, and maintain equipment and systems
Safety: Follow safety and environmental policies and procedures
Quali?ications:
? Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certi?ication or associate
degree in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, or a related ?ield is
preferred.
? Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related ?ield,
with experience in vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, or facility maintenance
being highly desirable.
? Skills:
? Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
? Pro?iciency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
? Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
? Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
? Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
? Good communication and teamwork abilities.
? Certi?ications: ASE certi?ication or other relevant certi?ications are a plus.
? Working Conditions:
? This position may require working in various environments, including workshops,
outdoor settings, and industrial facilities. Exposure to machinery, vehicles, noise,
and varying temperatures is common.
? May require lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
? Availability for on-call emergencies and occasional weekend or evening work may
be required.
