Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Construction Services Support Specialist in the Construction Services Department. Work location at an NPPD facility is flexible within the state of Nebraska and will be discussed with candidates during the interview process. Position closes October 29, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.

Position Summary

The Construction Services Support Specialist provides construction services project reviews and compiles information for complex and highly visible projects and communication. This position works independently and with minimal oversight from the Construction Services Supervisor. The incumbent is proficient with SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technologies, and takes the lead on reports regarding items specific to Construction Services.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a technical field) and four (4) years of related experience OR an associate degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience OR a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience required.

Prior Related Experience:

Experience preferred to be in engineering, operations, work control, maintenance, technology, finance, supply chain, or related functions at an electric utility.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Engineer in Training (EIT) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired, but not required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for tracking resources, schedules, estimates, and other tasks assigned by Construction Services Supervisor.

Assess Construction Services plans and assist in the development and ongoing activities of Construction Services planning.

Perform checks and reviews of Construction Services schedules. Ensure data accuracy and detailed Construction Services methods are incorporated in Construction Services endeavors.

Reconcile contract labor invoices bi-monthly and produce tracking and graphical reports of past, present, and projected future contract labor rates and overall costs.

Facilitate, review, and complete the accruals process to ensure all Construction Services activities and materials are appropriately accounted for while optimizing Construction Services close out.

Utilize SAP to monitor, track, and ensure materials are identified, planned appropriately and optimize pricing while ensuring timely material delivery. Utilize SAP to research orders & networks to verify material availability, cost, and labor hour allocated.

Responsible for Construction Services closeout reviews to report final metrics on Construction Services performance, including cost, material overages and underages, and to identify key lessons learned to be acted upon to improve individual, team, and organizational performance.

Build and maintain complex scheduling and tracking spreadsheets as needed.

Some overnight travel is required.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.

Pay Grade - 12 Monthly

Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $6,105.00 - $7,632.00

Travel Required: Will vary by location of successful candidate. Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
