We are recruiting for a Country Medical Director Greece, to be based in Greece.

Role:

Role of Medical Affairs Director is to advise local management on all medical activities of operating company and ensure compliance with local legal requirements and J&J internal rules and regulations. This role is crucial in providing medical and scientific leadership internally and externally. Additionally, is responsible for leading and developing the Medical team. Supports and fosters strong working relationships with sales, marketing, research and development, regulatory affairs, key stakeholders. Implement global/regional projects and strategies that develop, substantiate, and communicate the value of new products.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Management and coordination of the work of the Medical Affairs Department

  • Lead the medical department and oversee all activities, including projects and people responsibilities, driving continuous improvements to build an environment that encourages and recognizes creativity, innovation, partnership, risk taking and empowerment.

  • Manages the design and implementation plans of medical affairs program, including identification of critical paths, budget development and tracking of all projects.

  • Develop a strategy and execution plan that will ensure that local MAF is performed aligned to a regional strategy and global mentorship to improve the value and lifecycles of our products and give to the well-being of patients

  • Overall responsibility for medical affairs strategic plans including a spectrum of activities such publication of generated data, development of trustful and science-based interactions with KOLs, medical support to relevant marketing pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities, and cross-departmental support to other functions such as Market Access & External Affairs, Communications, Payers strategy.

  • Possesses and maintains appropriate medical knowledge within the company area of activities

  • Close collaboration with EMEA/MSM/Romania colleagues; exchange information, share best practices, adapt locally other countries projects suitable for local environment

  • Active involvement in local association

  • Accurate, timely, compliant work and task follow up

  • Ethical behavior in line with J&J’s Credo values is required

  • They should have up-to-date knowledge and keep existing company procedures and related rules; detailed knowledge of HCBI SOPs and relevant finance processes is a must.

  • Ensuring safety reporting requirements (timely AE/PQC reporting) as set out in company policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are met and appropriately managed when planning projects, developing materials, driving projects and contracting vendors

  • Ensuring HCC and legal requirements are fully understood, appropriately managed and aligned with when planning projects, developing materials, driving projects and contracting vendors

  • Maintain in the highest standards of ethics, quality, compliance and accountability: compulsory training must be completed on time, they should act in accordance with the Quality & Compliance Core Objective, and help others do the same when there is an opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Education: Medical Degree

  • +10 years of experience working in MAF and leading teams.

  • Experience working within multinational companies with adhering high levels of compliance

  • Professional experience from pharmaceutical business environment on regional level

  • Strong leadership skills, ability to structure and further develop a team of people, retain motivation and infuse spirit relevant to the company culture, vision and business strategy

  • Positive attitude to change, ability to challenge "status quo"

  • Excellent communication skills (oral, business writing, presenting and listening)

  • Fluent English knowledge of both spoken and written, Native local speaker is a must

  • Ability to handle complexity, diversity and changing environments.

  • Pragmatism, availability, diplomatic, listening and relationship skills

  • Strong analytical, communication, decision-making, people management skills and perseverance and capability of projects management

  • Ability to navigate and produce results in a global, matrix organization, strong cross-departmental support, interdisciplinary approach

  • Pro-active and goal oriented thinking

  • Location and mobility: 80% local office based/ 20% travels
