Genesis Corp dba Genesis10 Windows Middleware Engineer in Pennington, New Jersey
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Windows Middleware Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Builds, configures, installs and validates software
- Sets up test environments
- Test environments change with strict time restrictions for every release and often several times during the life of a release cycle
- Researches and resolves issues using acquired knowledge and skills or by liaising with internal client and/or external sources (internet, etc.), often under pressure and strict time frames
- Confers with internal and/or external departments to resolve issues
- Refers problems outside the scope of ability/responsibility to higher level Manager or related IT departments
- Analyzes user issues to determine possible problem sources
- Sources can include custom software issues, WAN/LAN issues, server/hardware issues, configuration issues, etc.
- Participates in systems or hardware related projects as assigned by the Environments Manager
- Ensures that corporate standards are adhered to in all aspects of software configuration/installation
- Create or update documentation
- Conducts or attends meetings
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, Information Technology
- Ability to troubleshoot complex .NET or Java-based application issues in a multi-tier development environment
- Working knowledge/expertise with JIRA and NEXUS
- Exposure and familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)
- Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, able to work with little supervision and a responsible team-player
- Computer networking skills and working knowledge: Load balancers, firewall, etc.
- Exposure and/or hands-on knowledge scripting language such as VBScript/Windows Scripting Host and Visual Studio
- Hands on working Windows IIS administration
Desired Skills:
- 5 or more years of experience of Windows Middleware Engineering experience DEVOPS experience Other products: BMC Remedy, BMC Bladelogic Server Automation
- Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail
