THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Office of Policy, Planning, and Communications is seeking a professional with a structured mindset and a strong focus on accuracy and detail. As the Strategic Initiatives and Projects Coordinator, you will be handling agency strategic planning, project development, as well as research and reporting for executive, administrative and other programmatic development efforts. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Strategic Initiatives and Projects Coordinator, you will be tasked with assisting with the alignment of goals, agency performance measures, and specific actions with financial resources. Work includes developing program proposals, funding proposals, preparing agency position statements, as well as planning and managing special projects and initiatives that advance the strategic plan. You will have the opportunity to coordinate projects that cross program areas and develop recommendations to positively impact commissions programs. The coordination requires working with staff from throughout the agency and working with public and private partners to identify and secure the resources needed to develop, execute, and evaluate effectiveness of the strategic initiatives. You will also act as a liaison between the Communications Director and Legislative Liaison to ensure continuity regarding policy issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2;or

  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university;or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Have a minimum 2 years experience in strategic management.

  • Have a minimum 2 years experience in grant management.

  • Have a minimum 2 years experience in writing letters, policies or documents.
