Job Title: Manual Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up and operating multiple machines, reading blueprints and engineering drawings, and inspecting parts for accuracy. This role requires strong math skills and the ability to use Windows Excel. The successful candidate will maintain a clean workstation and be able to detect and adjust malfunctions during machine operation.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints and engineering drawings
Set up and run multiple machines
Read and understand G-code
Inspect parts for accuracy using micrometers or calipers
Apply strong math skills in daily tasks
Use Windows Excel for data entry and analysis
Maintain a clean workstation
Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED
Technical Certification in Precision Machining / MSSC-CPT certification (preferred)
Three or more years of experience
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Good working knowledge of geometrical dimension and tolerance
Proficiency in both Metric and English units
Ability to make minor edits of CNC code at the machine
Proficiency in machine set-up of tools and offsets
Fundamental knowledge and use of micrometers, depth gauges, and calipers
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CNC Programming experience (preferred)
5-axis set up experience (preferred)
Machine maintenance skills (preferred)
Experience with change overs, machine operating, grinding surface, and cylinder grinding
Manual/lathe experience
Familiarity with Mazak, Haas, and Fanuc machines
Proficiency with tooling and calipers
Must be able to lift 45 lbs without assistance

Work Environment
You will be working in a machine shop environment. The role involves hands-on work with machinery and equipment, so adherence to safety protocols is essential. The position requires physical stamina to lift up to 45 lbs without assistance.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PENSACOLA, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
