Job Title: Concrete Finisher

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using concrete finishing tools and equipment, and able to perform physically demanding tasks while ensuring high standards of finished concrete surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare concrete surfaces by leveling, smoothing, and shaping freshly poured concrete using hand tools or power tools.

  • Apply various finishing techniques, such as troweling, floating, and edging, to achieve the desired surface texture and appearance.

  • Assist in setting and aligning forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, floors, and other concrete structures.

  • Inspect finished concrete surfaces to ensure they meet specified textures and grades, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete materials as required for the project.

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Work closely with other team members, including concrete laborers and project supervisors, to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.

  • Maintain and clean finishing tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.

  • Record and report job progress and any issues encountered during the finishing process.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a concrete finisher, particularly in commercial construction projects.

  • Proficiency in using concrete finishing tools and equipment, such as trowels, floats, screeds, and edgers.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.

  • Strong focus on accuracy and quality control to ensure high standards of finished concrete surfaces.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience and/or training.

  • Experience operating heavy equipment used in highway construction.

  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to travel as required for projects.

  • Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job).

Work Environment

Projects involve site work, both public and private, including site development, construction prep, trenching, drainage, grading, paving, and concrete foundation work. Be prepared to work outside in various weather conditions with no days off for inclement weather unless specified on the job. Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, high and precarious places, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Perkasie, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
