Job Title: Road Mechanic

Job Description

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on construction equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to, excavators, bulldozers, graders, and trucks. Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the best course of action for repairs. Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is in safe and optimal working condition. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site repairs as needed. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure minimal downtime of equipment. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties. Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in equipment technology. Dismantle machines or equipment to examine parts for defects or to remove defective parts. Replace defective parts with new parts or repair or reproduce parts from various kinds of metal. Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunctions and to confirm that they meet manufacturer's specifications. Overhaul gas or diesel engines and perform diagnostics through the use of computers. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in diesel repair, diesel engine, diesel maintenance, and general mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Preventive maintenance expertise.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in mechanics.

  • Experience as a mechanic, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
