Position Summary
We are looking for a Commercial Development Manager to Develop the Category agenda for all trade channels including E-commerce to support long term Category growth and profitably increase market share based on shopper and customer requirements.
A day in the life of a Commercial Development Manager
Accountable & Responsible for driving the Commercial Planning (ICP) process by identifying the key opportunities (incorporating understanding on shoppers, category, customer, competition, channel and external environment) and develop a commercial activity calendar for the Category.
Accountable & Responsible for defining strategies and plans that deliver Category/ sub Category growth based on consumer, shopper and customer requirements (including E-commerce)
Accountable & Responsible for identifying priority channels for the Category/ sub Category and work with Channel Managers to recommend tailored Category Channel plans in line with overall market strategy.
Accountable and Responsible for developing the in-store vision of success (Perfect Store) for the Category/ subcategory in each channel. Recommends actionable in-store solutions to support in-store vision. Supports its implementation and continuously review the effectiveness of our in-store actions.
Accountable and Responsible for monitoring promotional trends, initiatives and competitor actions by Category/ subcategory, priority channels and strategic customers. Identify and recommend promotional opportunities.
Accountable and Responsible for recommending clear promotional guidelines based on shopper understanding and current market knowledge. Ensure promotional investment is properly evaluated.
Accountable for proposing optimal Total Trade Spent (TTS) budgets for category by channel based on ICP. Ensure all TTS investment is properly reviewed and evaluated.
Accountable for collaborating with Brand Team in developing an optimum pricing strategy that fulfills shopper and trade/customer expectations.
Accountable and Responsible for preparing and implementing new product trade launch plan and conducting pre and post evaluation.
Accountable and Responsible for recommending winning commercial propositions for the category, effectively communicating these to Customer Team and Sales Operation team as appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to all company principles and policies.
What will make you successful
Bachelors Graduate with 5+ years’ experience in Trade Marketing and/or Marketing with Sales experience
Demonstrable record of success in a customer (not limited to Key Accounts) facing role. Understands customers and the selling process.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Problem-solving attitude, entrepreneurial spirit.
Analytical, data driven mindset and detail oriented.
Successfully led a team of direct reports.
