As an AmeriHealth Caritas intern, you will learn about the health care industry, our Medicaid and Medicare plans, pharmacy benefits management and behavioral health care — and how we are working to improve access to health care for all Americans. You will also join us in building healthy communities through active service projects that support our mission.

  • Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale.

Responsibilities:

Our Medicare Communications Intern will play a key role in supporting regulatory projects that ensure compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements. This is not a creative role—Medicare Communications is focused on regulatory-based requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to government standards rather than marketing or branding efforts. Interns will assist in tracking projects, organizing materials for review, proofreading content for accuracy, and ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in healthcare communications, allowing interns to develop critical skills in regulatory writing, project coordination, and compliance-based content development.

Education & Experience:

  • Be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills and an interest in regulatory or technical writing (Communications-related interests)

  • Possess excellent attention to detail, with the ability to proofread and ensure accuracy in formal documents.

  • Show adaptability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Work well both independently and within a team.

  • Have basic project management skills, with the ability to track assignments and meet timelines.

  • Understand that prior knowledge of Medicare and health plans is helpful but not required.
