Impact Services Fiscal Grants and Revenue Cycle Accountant in PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania

Job Scope and Effect:

The Fiscal Grants and Revenue Cycle Accountant is responsible for maintaining, recording, and reporting Grants and Programs. This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible.

Responsibilities:

Financial closing process: Recording

  • NetSuite finance system management -- Maintaining program codes and related chart of accounts.
  • Financial closing cycle process, controls, target dates, and responsibilities related to the Grants and Programs Revenue Cycle - fundraising commitments, revenue, accounts receivable, invoices, and cash receipts.
  • Standard/non-standard journal entry monitoring responsibilities related to the Grants and Programs.
  • Accruals, estimates and assumption documentation directly and across the finance department.
  • Direct Account reconciliations related to the Grants and Programs.

Cost allocations:

  • Maintaining, recording, and reporting Grants and Programs budget and actual results.
  • Supports allocation drivers and metrics.

Financial reporting and analysis:

  • Executing the financial integrity to support Grants and Programs actual to budget / forecast financial reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinating the Financial Planning and Analysis ("FP&A") function (Finance and Administration Director) related to Grants and Programs.
  • Participate in the preparation and analysis of the financial results to provide an understanding of the organization's financial performance.

Financial and regulatory audits

  • Supports the delivery and execution of the annual audit processes and preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Coordinates audits by donors, banks, insurance companies, Department of Labor, etc.
  • Executes the financial controls to ensure the integrity of the systems, processes and data related to Grants and Programs.
  • Contributes cash management reports and analysis.
  • Supports the reconciliation of bank and investment accounts.

Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills. - Proficiency in US GAAP and nonprofit accounting. - Proficient in accounting (e.g., NetSuite) and other software. - Ability to analyze, present, decision make, and problem solve complex financial process, control, and technology issues. - Ability to maintain confidentiality. - Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers and internal clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 8+ years or more of related nonprofit experience required.
  • Demonstrates experience in specific hands -- on work in financial management and accounting.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel, and a general comfort with digital technology, networked operations, office applications, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with complex charts of accounts and advanced accounting (e.g., NetSuite, bill.com) software, cost allocations.
  • High level of unwavering Integrity/et ics and a passion for Impact's mission, vision, and values.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or equipment, reach with hands and arms, balance, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Able to sit at a desk working at a computer workstation keyboarding and performing routine clerical duties.
  • Able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
