Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Licensed Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design, construction, and assessment of school buildings and facilities. This position offers the opportunity to support capital projects within the School District of Philadelphia.
Responsibilities
Develop scope for Capital Projects, including inspection, assessment, preliminary design, and preparation of formal scope determination reports.
Select and manage outside Design Consultants by preparing RFPs, approving design proposals, conducting technical reviews of design documentation, and approving payments.
Execute the permit, advertisement, and bidding process by preparing bid specifications, meeting prospective contractors, and working with L&I and other agencies.
Provide design support during construction.
Complete inspections and issue assessment reports and directives to other School District departments, such as Facilities, Maintenance, and Environmental Services.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
Professional Engineer’s License in Pennsylvania.
Minimum of 7 years of paid professional experience in school buildings and facilities’ design, construction, and assessment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with AutoCAD.
Experience in K-12 education project types.
Experience in construction document preparation and administration.
Experience in engineering project management.
Licensed Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineer.
Proficiency in Civil 3D.
Work Environment
The position is based within the School District of Philadelphia. The work involves supporting local public and government projects, specifically capital projects for the School District. The work environment will include collaboration with various departments and external consultants to ensure project success.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
