DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will be responsible for examining and pursuing cases related to various assistance programs, including cash aid, supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP), medical aid, and child care overpayments, as well as electronic benefit transfer (EBT) fraud and trafficking, Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), special allowances, medical assistance transportation program (MATP), and other DHS initiatives flagged for investigation. They will conduct interviews with applicants, beneficiaries, DHS personnel, and other relevant parties to compile data on eligibility criteria, scrutinize case records, gather evidence, and draft investigation reports. Utilizing investigative methods, they will carry out interviews, assess statements and documents, seek out information, and draft legal paperwork for criminal complaints and hearings. Additionally, they will represent cases at Administrative Fair Hearings, aid in criminal preliminary hearings and trials, and may need to travel for investigative tasks, hearings, interviews, prosecutions, and training sessions.

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to Act 29, the selected candidate will have limited law enforcement powers, which require all employees with access to agency systems to undergo fingerprinting and an in-depth background check to include criminal, tax, and credit history.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 500 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time,  up to 12 days a month based on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia. Note  - the physical location of the position could be at any of the district offices throughout Philadelphia based on operational needs. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of investigative experience and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent. This position requires all employees must obtain CLEAN/NCIC certification within two months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this job.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently
