AvantGarde, LLC Workforce Development and Training Coordinator in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
AvantGarde, LLC (AG) seeks to engage a Workforce Development and Training Coordinator who supports the Workforce Development Branch in the HR office of the Naval Surface Weapons Center (NSWC) Philadelphia Division by: assessing data, preparing reports and coordinating training and development activity to facilitate NSWC workforce development needs.
AG offers a comprehensive benefit package including a monthly commuter benefit as well as immediate medical enrollment and a generous 401k. This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. The work schedule is hybrid with the three days per week onsite at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia, PA.
The WORK
Monitor all mandatory training requirements, report on delinquent statuses, and update learning and tracking systems.
Coordinate across departments to ensure participants in training and onboarding are scheduled and have everything necessary to attend, such as access, documentation, clearance, training and approval.
Download, compile, and upload data and prepare reports to provide supervisors with the status of training coursework and developmental activities for their employees and supervisors to determine what training and development activities need to be scheduled so that all compliance and development requirements are met.
Enter courses requested by the various departments into the LMS, schedule courses, send out course invitations and reminders, and register and schedule participants in support of the Academic Program Manager, the NSWCPD’s Mentoring Program, Branch Chief, and other NSWCPD personnel who have duties to assess future workforce development strategies.
Follow up with employees, supervisors and those involved with training and development events to ensure all logistics have been arranged, presenters scheduled, and participants registered to support the organization’s goals for strategic planning, workforce shaping, data gathering, special projects, and quality meetings.
Coordinate with departments regarding registrations for Government Led Training such as Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and Cyber Security Workforce courses.
Assist with the facilitation and delivery of Onboarding activities and materials on an as needed basis.
The REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED and 5 years’ relevant experience in private sector, non- profit or state, local federal governments; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Excellent written, verbal and customer service skills, with specific attention to detail and demonstrated experience drafting written documents and communication.
Intermediate level of proficiency using MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook; experience using an LMS is preferred.
Flexibility in the approach to delivering work.
Must be willing to work onsite in Philadelphia, PA with some telework as approved by NSWCPD, currently three days per week onsite.
Able to obtain a federal security clearance; active or recent federal security clearance preferred.

Naval Surface Weapons Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) was founded by Rear Admiral George W. Melville as the Fuel Oil Testing Plant in 1910. Melville was a tireless advocate for an active Navy collaboration with industry and academia to conduct naval engineering research to solve problems that are often unique to the Navy.
