Position Profile

The Hospice Revenue Cycle Coordinator performs functions related to the revenue cycle for assigned lines of business. This job is responsible for identifying payer issues or trends and bringing them forward for collaboration and solution, as well as performing duties that support the Billers and Collectors, keeping the revenue cycle flowing properly. This role also serves as a liaison to the Insurance team ensuring that charts are processed timely and flow to Prior Auth or Billing as applicable. The Revenue Cycle Coordinator works to foster a positive environment that supports team members and enhances agency culture.

Responsibilities

  • Performs clearinghouse set-up and functions.

  • Maintains payer set-up in EHR.

  • Performs preliminary work in preparation for billing.

  • Monitors insurance workflow.

  • Bills assigned payers and programs.

  • Assist with month end process.

  • Assures timely collection of unpaid accounts receivable from assigned payers.

  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable data in EMR.

  • Communicates with internal and external customers in a professional and timely manner.

  • Assures accurate data entry of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance and self-pay payments and adjustments to patient accounts, as assigned.

  • Special projects as assigned.

  • Maintains and enhances professional skills.

  • Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma.

  • Minimum five-years of healthcare billing and collections experience.

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience required.

  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial and AHCCCS insurance, billing regulations and guidelines.
