Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues within conveyor systems and other warehouse machinery. You will provide daily maintenance of conveyor systems, MHE batteries, and battery stations, including watering and upkeep. Additionally, you will support general housekeeping, facility maintenance, and preventive maintenance of fire extinguishers, dock doors, dock levelers, and other miscellaneous general warehouse equipment. You will work closely with the maintenance staff to ensure a safe and functional work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair material handling systems including gears, chains, pulleys, belts, electric gear motors, rollers, and controls.

  • Maintain and repair sorter systems including laser scanners, computer, and electronics.

  • Understand system flow, start, stop, and un-jam systems as needed.

  • Troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, dismantle, lubricate, and overhaul machinery and equipment.

  • Check zones, belt tracking, and photo eyes.

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and parts.

  • Observe safety procedures and ensure compliance with electrical codes.

  • Make decisions based on technical documents.

  • Perform quality testing and inspections.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • At least 2 years of technical hands-on related experience

  • Forklift certification and knowledge of battery changing/watering requirements

  • Ability to perform basic repairs throughout the facility

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs

  • Open availability for all shifts

Work Environment

Work in a brand new, climate-controlled facility with new equipment. The large distribution facility requires significant walking, and maintenance staff will have motorized vehicles for tools and gear. Maintenance work may be performed at heights between 5 ft to 30 ft, with harnesses, railings, platforms, enclosed areas, scissor lifts, and boom lifts provided for safety. Open availability for all shifts is required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
