PetSmart LLC seeks a full-time Senior Data Engineer based in Phoenix, AZ. The Senior Data Engineer position is responsible for collaborating with various PetSmart business areas to design and build sustainable solutions to meet business needs and add significant business value. Execute detailed designs to ensure they meet specifications and ultimately the business requirements. Work with Solution Architects and business area teams to build detailed technical design and specification documents, to meet business needs, considering capabilities, risks, and system dependencies. Execute the build, test, and deployment of full lifecycle solutions for Application Integration & Data Analytics (data integration) solutions. Build implementation plan and coordinate deployment with platform teams. Champion efforts to ensure appropriate development best practices. Work on multiple concurrent projects, meet business expectations, influence outcomes, and maintain stated timelines.

This position requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent in IT, MIS, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience. Must also have 5 years of demonstrated experience with each of the following: Using Python, Unix Shell scripting, Crontab, and Informatica PowerCenter 10.x with advanced and custom transformations; Working with web service protocols including SFTP, HTTPS, WSDL, and SOAP, and middleware tools including DataPower, XSLT, and Kafka for real-time messaging; Developing SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures for on-premises and cloud databases using Netezza, SQL Server, and Snowflake, and developing code and workload orchestration using Databricks, PySpark, Apache spark, and Snow SQL; Working with GCP cloud technologies, Tidal (enterprise job scheduling), and GIT or Agile version control systems; and Working with business intelligence and data warehousing concepts including ETL/ELT processes, schema design, data modeling, and data architecture and deploying business intelligence analytics tools like MicroStrategy.
