Robert Half Staff Accountant in Phoenix, Arizona
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with several departments including warehouse accounting, pricing, trade development, and executive management in a multi-state environment.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze expenses on a monthly and yearly basis and provide a recap.
• Identify necessary General Ledger re-class and accruals in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Reconcile monthly gross profit between financial and billing distribution systems.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and reports.
• Perform analysis of budget versus actual expenses.
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts monthly and identify errors, write-offs, or other items requiring management discussion.
• Manage relations with business-critical suppliers to maintain aging per corporate directives, including performing bank reconciliations and forecasting potential deficit spending.
• Prepare and file various monthly tax reports.
• Participate in annual budget forecasting.
• Reconcile petty cash on a regular basis.
• Process monthly spoils reconciliation and billing.
• Assist with quarterly and end of year reporting to the corporate team.
• Handle incentives for payout and submit to payroll for payment.
• Process monthly commission payouts.
• Liaise with Corporate on License Renewals.
• Provide backup for payroll processing and prepare various payroll reports. Requirements • Possess strong communication skills for effective interaction with different departments
• Proficient in data entry tasks
• Capable of creating detailed financial reports
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation
• Familiar with standard accounting procedures
• Experience with payroll and payroll functions
• Understanding of budget processes including forecasting and annual budget preparation
• Proven supervisory skills
• Ability to deliver clear and concise presentations
• Solid understanding of finance principles and applications
• Knowledgeable in pricing strategies and cost analysis
• Experience in performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations
• Proficient in billing processes
• Ability to perform ad hoc financial analyses
• Experienced in managing and maintaining the general ledger
• Knowledge of tax procedures and regulations
• Experience dealing with suppliers
• Comfortable with video conferencing tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
• Possess 10 key skills for efficient data input
• Experience in preparing the annual budget
• Proficient in cost analysis for financial planning and forecasting.
