Meta Network Strategy Lead in Pierre, South Dakota

You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with our broader Network Engineering team to tackle these hard and long term network infrastructure problems to deliver network capacity at scale.Who we areNetwork Investments mission is to scale Meta's network infrastructure to enable the evolution of social technologies. Specifically, we invest in and develop complex subsea cables and terrestrial networks to connect Meta’s data centers (DCs), Edge Points of Presence (PoPs) and Meta Network Appliances across the globe. We source or invest in third-party infrastructure and develop Meta’s own-build subsea cables and terrestrial fiber capacity. Network Strategy LeadWe are seeking a Network Strategy Lead to drive the development of digital infrastructure strategies for terrestrial and subsea investments. You will work on optimizing Meta’s network infrastructure to meet accelerating capacity demand in support of one of the world’s largest platforms. As a Network Strategy Lead, you will collaborate closely with a broad Meta cross-functional team to help evaluate and recommend strategies utilizing financial, operating and economic models. This role requires a strong background in strategy development, financial analysis, telecom, and investment decision-making.

Required Skills:

Network Strategy Lead Responsibilities:

  1. Influence through data-driven insights the development of optimized networks to meet long-term reliability, scalability and efficiency goals.

  2. Conduct detailed market, supplier and emerging technology analyses of global network landscape to inform infrastructure investments and sourcing strategies.

  3. Drive recommendations based on data-driven insights, financial/cost modeling, and risk assessments.

  4. Collaborate with external partners, including vendors, ISPs, and subsea consortium members, to drive strategic outcomes.

  5. Work with engineering, planning, legal, and other cross-functional teams to align on network demand requirements, sourcing strategies and investment recommendations.

  6. Identify opportunities to innovate within the global connectivity space, driving efficiency and scalability for Meta’s network operations.

  7. Develop and deliver high-impact presentations, strategic roadmaps, and executive reports to convey complex network strategies and recommendations with clarity and precision.

  8. Capacity to travel globally up to 30% of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  2. Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, business administration, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  3. Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking/research, planning with telecommunications or subsea infrastructure focus.

  4. Demonstrated skills in financial modeling, ROI analysis, and investment assessment.

  5. Proven analytical skills and experience to synthesize market and technical data into strategic plans.

  6. Effective written and verbal communication skills, and experience creating and delivering to senior audiences.

  1. Advanced degree (e.g., Masters Degree in Telecommunications or Engineering).

  2. Experience with analytical/visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, GIS/mapping) and basic coding skills (e.g. SQL, Python).

  3. Experience with due-diligence of large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g Fiberco, co-build, submarine consortiums).

  4. Experience with telecommunication or other large network / data center development, operations and maintenance.

  5. Experience with telecom policy, regulatory, and permitting.

  6. An ideal person for this role is strategic, analytically-rigorous with experience in telecom and developing global digital connectivity solutions who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous and cross-functional environments.

Public Compensation:

$161,000/year to $225,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
