Join Humana’s dynamic Site Reliability Engineering team as a Senior Automation Engineer, where you will drive innovation by automating complex application and/or infrastructure workflows. The Senior Automation Engineer is proficient in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell/Bash which is crucial for automating routine tasks and enhancing system reliability. Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is essential for modern SRE practices. The Senior Automation Engineer provides a practical foundation for understanding the complexities of system reliability and scalability. The Senior Automation Engineer should also have skills in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, which are pivotal in maintaining high system uptime and rapid deployment cycles. Additionally, expertise in monitoring and logging tools is necessary to proactively detect and resolve issues, ensuring system stability and performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology or related field

  • 5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure

  • certifications such as AWS/GCP/Azure Certified Solutions Architect or Certified Kubernetes Administrator

  • Demonstrate a formal understanding of key technologies used in SRE or previous roles in DevOps or SRE

  • Experience in system administration, network management

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science/information technology or related field

  • Experience leading architecture in modernization, transformation and transition journeys.

  • Has experience with software and system development life cycles (SDLC), capability maturity model integration (CMMI) and scaled agile framework (SAFe).

  • Has proven experience with software development strategies and best practices.

  • Well versed and proficient with coding practices overall and in several programming languages such as .Net, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, Python.

  • Well versed with self-service testing, automated testing, test data management with proper configurations in various tools.

  • Has deep proven experience with developing software for human centered experience design user interfaces, integration services producer/consumer with restful/json endpoints, understands data translation services and pipelines and is versed in client/server and clientless apps.

  • Has proven experience with best methods related to branching and tiering strategies.

  • Has proven experience cloud and multicloud strategies and best practices .

  • Has deep, core proven experience configuring and automating for self-service capabilities, service virtualization, clusters and containers of native cloud infrastructure as a service, platform as a service in relationship to DevOps, pipelines, software. engineering/development, system engineering and packaged software.

  • Has cloud auto-scaling and high availability, always-on, experience and expertise to address business operations through the highs and lows of business cycles.

  • Has multicloud expertise and experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to address reliable services cross and inter-cloud.

Work-At-Home Requirements:

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$97,900 - $133,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
