Description

Robert Half if seeking a Staff Accountant with knowledge of grant accounting for a position located in the East Brunswick, NJ area. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining the financial health of our organization, primarily focusing on grant accounting.

Responsibilities

• Handle the processing and management of grant accounting activities

• Comply with GAAP accounting principles in all accounting tasks

• Ensure accurate processing of customer credit applications

• Maintain precise credit records for all customers

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as needed

• Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner

• Ensure all financial operations align with the current financial legislation

• Perform grant compliance tasks as required

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports

• Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Grant Accounting

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Experience in the education industry is a plus

• Must possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
