As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer for the Voice Research & Development (R&D) Team within Honeywell's Productivity Solutions and Services (PSS) you will join a team that designs, develops, and integrates hardware that interfaces with highly complex software applications for advanced Voice Automated Solutions. You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, testing, and may serve a project manager role for smaller development projects. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement.

Key Responsibilities

The Voice Technologies R&D Team within Honeywell PSS is focused on developing innovative voice automation devices that enhance voice recognition, interaction, and integration within various applications. These solutions are designed to enhance operational efficiency, improve user interactions, workflows, and facilitate better communication through voice technologies.

  • Product Design and Development

  • Product requirement definition

  • Hardware architecture creation and implementation

  • Design and Modeling

  • Feature Definition

  • Verification and Validation of Products

  • Integration, Certification and Testing

  • Support Rapid Prototyping and iterating on mechanical designs, allowing for fast testing of concepts.

  • Product Development Lifecycle: Knowledge and experience with different phases of the product development lifecycle, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and product launch.

  • Collaboration: Work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams

  • Customer Support

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

  • Minimum 4+ years of Mechanical Engineering Experience

  • CAD Modeling experience.

WE VALUE

  • Understanding of the hardware product development lifecycle

  • Proven experience in product design and development.

  • Experience with any of the following is of value:

  • PTC Creo surface modeling experience

  • CAD Vaulting/PLM system experience; Siemens Teamcenter experience is preferred.

  • Experience with ANSYS Mechanical FEA

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and test electronic devices, wearable product development is a plus.

  • Prototyping – 3D printing and basic machining experience

  • Experience working with and managing Contract Manufacturers

  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues quickly

  • Experience collaborating with a diverse and global team

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team (electrical and embedded)
