UPMC Behavioral Health Therapist Associate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The CADD Child Outpatient Clinic serves children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disorders. We provide evidence-based diagnostic assessments and outpatient treatment. In addition, we conduct cutting-edge research and serve as a training site for graduate students/residents.
The hire of this position will be responsible for providing treatment to patients with autism, intellectual disabilities, and a variety of behavioral, and/or mental health concerns. Provide diagnostic interviews/assessments with patients and families and coordinate with care teams to plan behavioral health treatment across levels of care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and adolescents with autism and intellectual disability. This position will work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:
· Role Identification: Works with MHP/Supervisor to define role, interventions, and population complexity.
· Client Engagement: Connects with potential clients and addresses engagement barriers.
· Data Collection: Gathers necessary information for continuity of care.
· Assessments: Conducts structured assessments and documents findings under supervision.
· Treatment Implementation: Adapts treatment models for patient care.
· Screenings and Data Collection: Completes tasks to inform treatment planning.
· Documentation: Maintains accurate and complete case records.
· Diagnosis: Develops provisional diagnoses using DSM under supervision.
· Recovery Principles: Promotes self-management of illness.
· Team Collaboration: Works with treatment team and attends meetings.
· Treatment Planning: Collaborates on developing and updating treatment plans.
· Clinical Documentation: Completes documentation promptly and ensures service authorization.
· Therapy and Education: Provides individual and group therapy, engages families, and educates on recovery.
· Case Review: Reviews cases with supervisor and clinical team.
· Continuity of Care: Coordinates with community supports and treatment team.
· Service Referrals: Refers patients to appropriate services and programs.
· Quality Assurance: Participates in program improvement activities.
· Other Duties: Performs additional tasks as assigned.
· Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.
· Completion of a human services related internship/practicum or 1 year of relevant human services experience.
· Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process preferred.
· Experience working with adolescents and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and suicidality.
· Interest or previous experience working within a treatment team approach.
· EPIC trained preferred, not required.
· Strong organizational skills.
