Business Coordinator
The Business Coordinator provides business operations, purchasing and event support to the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics. The incumbent is responsible for the processing of travel and research expenses for the chair, faculty, visitors, etc. Responsibility likewise acts as the primary purchasing specialist. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating and managing workshops, colloquia, conferences and outreach events for the departments, organizing travel requests and processing reimbursements for department personnel and visitors. The Business Coordinator will assist in training faculty, staff and students on policies and procedures. Likewise, will provide administrative support to faculty, staff and day-to-day as need as well as assist with the development of newsletters, and updates to websites and social media.
Job Summary
Facilitates bill processing, expenditure tracking, and account reconciliations. Maintains effective customer service and vendor coordination, validates and enters data, performs routine analyses, and assists with administrative budgetary activities.
Essential Functions
The successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc.
Physical Effort
This position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus is occasionally necessary. Also, must be able to pick-up and carry 25 pounds.
