Finance Manager
Manages financial operations and oversees the preparation of financial statements. Serves as a primary contact for all financial matters and resolves complex issues. Performs budgetary and audit functions. Prepares and analyzes complex financial documentation and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
Leads the Cardiology/VMI fiscal operations team which is comprised of individuals who have been assigned specific tasks with respect to management and oversight of the division's financial portfolio. Provides specialized financial reports to leadership as needed and makes suggestions that will help to efficiently manage the financial resources that are available. Establishes fiscal policies and procedures to ensure that there are internal controls in place to ensure compliance with both University and sponsor guidelines.

Essential Functions
The position consists of broad responsibilities requiring the application of policies to dynamic and complex conditions. Problems generally require significant analysis and judgment. Incumbent must have the ability to work with computer accounting applications, evaluate accounting systems, and perform numerous mathematical calculations. Position requires in-depth knowledge of University, UPMC, UPP policies and procedures, Federal and state regulations.
Essential functions include: ability to sit at a desk for periods of time, to handle things such as telephone, computer, calculator, writing by hand, ability to speak clearly and to hear well, ability to attend meetings and make hand-deliveries around campus as needed. High level of writing and reading skills.
Physical Effort
This is a fairly sedentary position but may require walking to other locations on campus. Occasional lifting of files and light office equipment.
