Reference #: 23259560 Genesis10 is seeking a Java Developer for a remote 6-month contract position with a leading client located in Pittsburgh, PA. This role pays $45-55 /hour W2 based on experience.

Job Description:

Under general direction, the contractor will design, develop, and implement technology to drive customer and business initiatives.  The role is responsible for developing, leveraging and incorporating new technology into the client business.  Key responsibilities include development of internal and external systems, integrations of third-party hardware and software systems, and creating analytics/reporting platforms to satisfy stakeholders.  The contractor should be interested in embracing a wide variety of technologies to improve customer and business efficiency. The ideal candidate will have the ability to quickly provide high quality solutions based on incomplete business requirements.

Job Duties:

Design, develop, and test technologies to improve customer experience, efficiency, and to meet business requirements Develop prototypes, tools, and integrations to leverage current technologies and third-party systems and hardware Coordinate systems analysis, systems development, and implementation activities Produce accurate and timely metrics and reports to determine viability of new technology Ability to quickly analyze and communicate the impacts and/or issues with non-IT personnel and vendors Maintain cognizance of industry trends and new products to evaluate opportunities for achieving maximum effective usage of company's investment in Information Technology Recommend and implement technology and process improvements to increase efficiency Prevent unauthorized access to information, assets or restricted areas and report any attempts Report any type of problems to the appropriate management in a timely manner Participate in both daylight and off-hour support rotation Assist in special projects as assigned, other duties as assigned

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems / Computer Science 5+ years' experience as a software engineer / programmer / developer Strong proficiency in Java programming language Experience with SpringBoot framework Knowledge of RESTful web services and API development Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL or PostgreSQL Understanding of software development principles and methodologies Proficiency in writing unit tests with JUnit and Mockito Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle Agile development / tools (Jira, etc) XML, XSLT, or NAXML DevOps / Azure Understanding of basic networking concepts C#.NET knowledge is a plus but not required
