GENERAL OVERVIEW

Manages the daily operations of Commercial Printing Operations and is responsible for providing and utilizing the existing and emerging technologies in the areas of document design and development, application software, centralized and distributed hardware, hard copy and soft copy media, and distribution technologies. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Output Services function that includes: operator training and development; output services scheduling; installation, re-start and recovery procedures. Monitors and reports all production outages and performs proactive analysis on all factors impacting availability and service level achievement. Manages IT Infrastructure Operations staff.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Commercial Printing Operations. Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all work orders in the Electronic Print and Manual Mail/Fulfillment areas. Responsible for organizing, implementing and processing any changes and improvement for the Electronic Print and Manual Mail/Fulfillment areas.

  • Management of the Output Services staff which includes:

  • Developing yearly performance plans and preparing and administering performance appraisals.

  • Providing behavior and performance counseling.

  • Recruiting, interviewing and selecting prospective employees.

  • Managing, measuring and tracking daily performance

  • IT Infrastructure Operations Planning:

  • Participate in the planning and implementation of key projects designed to improve or enhance the performance of the Electronic Print and Manual Mail/Fulfillment area.

  • Other planning responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interacting with other management and affiliated organizations.

  • Project research

  • Vendor interaction

  • Feasibility studies

    1. Develop process operating procedures. Research alternatives and opportunities to streamline operations. Remain abreast of new technologies.
    1. Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • High School diploma

  • 6 years experience with electronic print and mail processes to include:

  • High speed printers

  • Inserters

  • Metering

  • Sorting

  • 6 years experience with an automated document factory and associated software applications.

  • 3 years management experience to include both people and workload scheduling.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree
