The Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) is a living laboratory where we investigate the relationship between computer technology, human activity, and society. Founded in 1993, the HCII is a place where we work to understand and create technology that harmonizes with and improves human capabilities, goals, and social environments through interdisciplinary research and education in design, computer science, and behavioral and social sciences. We research how people work, play, and communicate within groups, organizations, and social structures, then we design, create, and evaluate technologies and tools to support human and social activities.

We are seeking REU Program Administrator/Administrative Coordinator to join the team. The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Administrator will be involved in a full cycle of the program, provide administrative support to assigned faculty members and to provide program administrative support for the REU Program.Core responsibilities include: Provide administrative and day-to-day support to faculty research teams. Drafting correspondence for faculty approval/or on behalf of faculty member(s). Collecting and organizing data, posters and other documents as needed using complex software packages. Planning and facilitating of special events, including housing procurement needs for REU program interns. Creating and maintaining a filing system for the maintenance of program records Creating, updating and maintaining course content, faculty profiles, and/or research project websites using Canvas and HTML. Creating and coordinating travel itineraries. Performs related duties as assigned.

Ability to track, manage and maintain information. Good comfort in learning and working with a range of software programs unique to academic settings. Ability to have good attention to detail, meet deadlines and think critically.Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. Associate Degree is preferred. 3-5 years of proven experience in administrative, data entry and office management support. Experience with calendar management, managing expenses, and travel coordination is preferred. Experience with the MS Office suite of tools. Experience working in handling digital content (archives, websites, Sharepoint sites, social media, etc) is valued. A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.Requirements Successful background investigation.
