Assistant Properties Supervisor Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking an Assistant Properties Supervisor to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position assists the Properties Supervisor in overseeing all the properties needs throughout the season, for productions on our Boyd-Quinson Stage, and St Germain Stage. This position requires a driven and passionate professional with strong communication and organizational skills, a working knowledge of props creation techniques and historical context, and a working knowledge of prop shop tools and maintenance. Responsibilities: - Assist in the construction or procurement of all needed theatrical properties for all of BSC\'s 2025 season\'s productions and events, while remaining within budget - Assist the Properties Supervisor in coordinating with designers, stage management, and directors to create a final props list, and ensure all properties match the artistic vision of each production - Assist in providing stand-in rehearsal props for each production throughout the rehearsal process - Coordinate with the Properties Supervisor to cover tech rehearsals, notes sessions, production meetings, and previews as needed - Assist in the maintenance of the current properties stock, document any additional purchases, and restock props at the end of productions, while recording the status of props in the BSC props inventory - Maintain properties shop tools and equipment, and purchase shop supplies as instructed by the Properties Supervisor - Keep the properties shop and storage areas free of debris - Train run crew on the proper storage, usage, and required maintenance of props - Maintain the current properties stock, document any additional purchases, and track the status of all properties owned by BSC with the properties inventory - Maintain properties shop tools and equipment, to ensure they are in safe and proper working order - Keep the properties shop and storage areas free of debris, and ensure props are clean and free of mold, mildew, or infestations throughout the season - Assist with managing prop rentals and purchases and ensure items are returned on time - Assist the Properties Supervisor in accurately tracking expenses and providing expenditure reports - Maintain a safe and healthy work environment Skills: - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills - Online research and procurement skills - Working knowledge of properties construction techniques and materials - Working knowledge of shop tools and equipment - Experience with carpentry, sewing, and upholstery is necessary. - Experience with welding is helpful. - Knowledge of mold-making and casting techniques - Knowledge of art history and period useful - Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat - Driver\'s License required This position reports to the Properties Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position Contract: 4/21/2025 through 9/21/2025 Salary is \$900 per week, exempt, with housing available.
