Housekeeping Porter

The primary purpose of your job is to perform housekeeping and cleaning functions within established guidelines as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Full time- 11:30am-8:00pm. Monday- Friday.

Cleaning (Common Areas): Adheres to cleaning schedule as outlined for department, according to established procedures, to include the following:

• Cleaning assigned areas to include – furnishings, walls, windows, doors, ceilings, and ceiling fixtures, entrances, exits, resident doors, keypads, & public entrance

• Performs general floor care to include – carpets & floors; dry/wet mops, vacuums, sweeps, spot clean carpet, scrubs, disinfects as

• Performs emergency housekeeping cleanups when needed.

• Demonstrates the ability to work on higher skilled tasks such as comprehensive cleaning and final cleaning of apartments and cleans movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures. Dusts, spot cleans or washes, disinfects, polishes, etc., when

• Straightens or rearranges furniture as directed, put back in

• Cleans bathrooms (resident, private, public).

• Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors and Washes windows and mirrors. Replenishes bathroom supplies.

• Cleans all horizontal surfaces daily or as required, removing dust, dirt, or greasy film, using disinfectants where necessary.

• Cleans stairwells and elevators as assigned.

• Understands use of chemicals is necessary to perform job function and all safety measures must be put in place. This includes but is not limited to proper skin and eye protection, respirators, etc. If any usage questions arise for these chemicals refer to SDS sheets.

• Empties and relines wastebaskets and removes & disposes of waste and

• Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning to Housekeeping

• Performs light maintenance work (e.g. change out light bulbs, plunge toilets, reset resident TV’s, etc.)

• Answers hospitality maintenance calls from 4:00pm to 8:00pm nightly

• Performs a nightly trash & recycling run.

• Assists residents with extra requests as time permits (e.g. clean microwave)

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications- Education & Experience:

Experience with geriatric population is a plus in housekeeping; in a variety of industries including but not limited to hotels residential homes and/or senior living facilities. For internal transfers, must have successfully completed a minimum of 6 months experience as a Housekeeper I.

NE- Pay Range: $16.50hr- $23.50hr. *Experienced based pay
