Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Federal Inside Sales Representative to drive sales within the federal government sector, including DoD, Civilian agencies, and Federal Prime Contractors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of selling to federal customers, experience with government procurement vehicles, and the ability to manage and grow a sales pipeline.
This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with SAP and Salesforce.com, and expertise in quoting federal customers while ensuring compliance with contract regulations. The Federal Inside Sales Representative will work closely with the Federal Outside Account Manager to execute sales strategies and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and generate new business opportunities within DoD and Federal Civilian agencies.
Build relationships with key decision-makers within agencies such as:
Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
General Services Administration (GSA)
Department of Energy (DOE)
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Federal Prime Contractors, including:
Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Leidos, SAIC, etc.
Drive lead generation through cold calling, follow-ups, referrals, and networking.
Sales Execution & Quoting
Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing.
Prepare and manage quotes and proposals, ensuring compliance with GSA Schedule, SEWP, IDIQs, OTAs, BPAs, and other federal procurement vehicles.
Leverage Salesforce.com to track leads, manage opportunities, and forecast sales.
Work closely with the outside Federal Account Manager to coordinate sales efforts, optimize account strategy, and ensure seamless customer engagement.
Customer & Account Management
Maintain and strengthen relationships with federal customers to understand future requirements.
Work cross-functionally with Account Managers, Sales Engineers, and Operations Teams to ensure smooth deal execution.
Provide weekly sales forecasts and pipeline updates in Salesforce.com.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3+ years of experience selling into the federal government
Proven experience selling to Federal Civilian agencies and DoD Prime Contractors.
Familiarity with government procurement processes, including federal contract vehicles (e.g., GSA, SEWP, IDIQs, OTAs, BPAs).
Quoting experience within federal sales, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
Proficiency in SAP and Salesforce.com for quoting, CRM, and pipeline management.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage both technical and procurement stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, inside sales environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with the Federal Account Manager to execute account strategies and drive sales success.
Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.
