The Opportunity
As a dedicated Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for providing analytical and operational support to the life insurance investment management process. This will include conducting research and statistical analysis of investment portfolios, providing support to the enterprise forecasting, planning, and reporting process functions as well as providing support for Second Line of Defense (SLOD) and Third Line of Defense (TLOD) data requests related to investment management, such as audits. Additionally, you will support risk control self-assessments (RCSA), risk control inventory, testing controls, and key risk/performance indicator reporting and development. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Apply proficient knowledge to conduct research and statistical analysis of USAA investment portfolios
Complete ad hoc and recurring analysis, research market trends and compiles data
Prepare reports and presentations for investment portfolios that include portfolio performance, risk, and attribution
Prepare other ad hoc reporting as required by internal or external stakeholders and reconcile results consistent with fund/or strategy objectives
Participate in compliance initiatives to update new requirements on USAA technical systems and manage compliance templates to align with policy and regulatory constraints
Provide support for life insurance investment pricing
Develop an understanding of the fixed income, alternatives, and equity asset classes and shares knowledge with operations teams
Stay informed of industry initiatives and trends that may impact portfolio analytics
Apply proficient knowledge to assist team members with the onboarding of new asset managers, to include coordinating efforts with stakeholders
Collect data and provides support to team members in the preparation of investment presentation
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree; 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree
4 years of experience in financial analysis within the investment industry or related financial services industry
Knowledge of fixed income, equity, and/or alternative asset classes
Knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance laws and regulations Proficient knowledge of financial asset classes and investment management or investment operations processes
Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel
What sets you apart:

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $85,040.00 - $162,550.00.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
