What we’re looking for

Connected Technologies is a newly formed group within Toyota, focused on delivering industry-leading user experiences and new technologies for our Toyota and Lexus vehicles. We’re looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Project Design Engineer for our growing Connected Technology team!

In this role, you will be responsible for leading Mobile Development horizontal initiatives ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient solutions.

What you’ll be doing

Oversee the integration of third-party solutions, managing vendor relationships and ensuring seamless interoperability.

Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, implementing proactive measures.

Maintain documentation on all functional specifications for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in mobile application development.

Drive the adoption of feature flag management and localization strategies within the dev teams.

Manage the implementation and usage of frameworks to ensure the highest quality of mobile applications.

Maintain backlog and ensure delivery of internal security specifications and reported vulnerabilities.

Ensure prompt delivery of tech debt items, code refactoring, technology stack updates, and testing coverage improvements.

What you bring

Experience working with mobile development teams with responsibilities focusing on designing, developing, and optimizing mobile engineering solutions

Proficiency in agile methodologies and project management practices.

Strong understanding of feature flag management and localization techniques.

Experience in managing vendor relationships and third-party integrations.

Added bonus if you have

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Previous experience as a Technical Product Owner.

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation

Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and backend services integration

Familiarity with mobile architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, VIPER, etc.)
