JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Dean of Students provides leadership for the administration and activities of the Dean of Students office at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. The Dean of Students determines and sustains policies and practices which promote a safe environment for students, including overseeing and responding to student behavioral issues. They have direct outreach and support to students and their families and serve as the institutional official in compliance with applicable federal requirements (e.g. Title IX) for students. Salary for this position is \$100,000 - \$105,000 commensurate with experience and education. This is a full-time, benefit and paid leave eligible position. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise professional staff within the Dean of Students office. Direct strategic planning initiatives and establish objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staff resources, and alignment with the unit and university strategic plan. Support the campuses Title IX work while serving as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. Listen to, mediate, and process general complaints and concerns with students and student situations. Oversee, develop, and administer university policies and procedures Direct and oversees the Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Student Code of Conduct. Effectively respond to emergency and crisis situations that pertain to students and campus life. Oversee and/or administer the investigation on allegations against university recognized Student Organizations. Represent the university to various institutional areas as well as externally (governmental agencies, families, public, etc.). Serve as the convener for the Behavior Intervention Team. Serve as the key unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information and representing student affairs interests Advocate on behalf of student voices and concerns at an administrative level. Design development opportunities for leadership, and foster collaborations and cross-unit partnership efforts regarding student affairs.
