Engineering Manager - New Product Introduction - Plymouth, MN- Hybrid Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking an Engineering Manager - New Product Introduction who will direct and coordinate activities of the NPI Group (design, manufacture, and test: components, products, and systems) Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor! Location: Plymouth, MN - Hybrid What you will do: Lead a team of engineers to develop new products (NPI) and technologies (NTI) to meet system specifications and program timelines. Key technologies include refrigeration, fans, electric motors, air flow, gas and electric heat, cabinet structure, system controls, etc. Utilize experience and sound judgement to identify risks to our designs and programs. Drive vigorous discussions around countermeasures and mitigations. Strike the right balance of technical rigor vs delivering on-time business results. Coordinate effectively with cross-functional groups such as product management, manufacturing, test and design to ensure project quality, cost and delivery are achieved. Understand our projects, business needs and capabilities of team members. Effectively assign objectives and work tasks accordingly. Support the implementation of Lean methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Project Planning, Value Stream Analysis, etc. Build these fundamentals into the daily work of the team to achieve greater levels of output and confidence in our project execution. Lead the engineering team to develop best practices and standard work around key technologies and processes. (DFMEA, DVP&R, Design Guidelines, DFM/A, DOE, etc). Support the effective application of these engineering tools and processes within our project execution. Understand the career goals of our engineers. Support their development of both technical capabilities and personal competencies. Help them grow in a way that is both rewarding to the individual and meaningful to the needs of the business. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
