Project Overview:

Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world. Bechtel operates through four global business units that specialize in infrastructure; mining and metals; nuclear, security and environmental; and oil, gas, and chemicals. Today, our colleague's team with customers, partners, and suppliers on diverse projects in nearly 40 countries.The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy LNG projects.

Job Summary:

Bechtel's Port Arthur Infrastructure team is seeking a Project Controls Engineer that will support the infrastructure scope in Port Aruthur, TX. In the Project Controls Engineer role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of industry professionals and experience on-site operations. The Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for supporting cost engineering, cost analysis/control as well as providing planning and scheduling support. #LI-ML1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports overall planning & schedule development, analysis and reporting efforts for the project, supporting 3-Week Lookahead packages and Work Front Analysis. Helps support the implementation of construction scheduling & progress metrics and monitoring systems.

  • Responsible for understanding the complete project scope, project schedule objectives as well as supporting and maintaining a plan and schedule to accomplish the same.

  • Interfaces directly with field supervision to help prepare and update detailed execution schedules, resource utilization plans and progress tracking tools.

  • Supports the integration of all activity sequences & logics with the total project plan.

  • Supports accurate schedules, resource, quantities, progress, and performance reporting.

  • Continually monitors critical and near critical path work and communicates issues for mitigation.

  • Proactively assesses progress, completion forecasts and provides solutions to mitigate schedule delays or to optimize project completion.

  • Evaluates project progress against historical performance and provides comparative analysis.

  • May be asked to help support cost related activities, including, but not limited to trend and jobhour reporting using project level tools.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience in Primavera, schedule performing, monitoring. Basic level of understanding in cost control, cost analysis and performance tracking.

  • Experience in other areas of project controls (planning, scheduling, estimating, etc.) preferred.

  • Experience using and generating PowerBI metrics and dashboards preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.

  • Skilled in oral and written communication.

  • Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
