Job Details Cat Scan Technologist Under the general supervision of a radiologist and/or appropriate physician, operates computerized tomography (CT) scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Operates CT scanners and peripheral equipment, prepares scan room, supplies, and medications. Prepares and enters written documentation as required by the department. This individual has direct patient contact with the following age groups: Infant; Pediatric; Adolescent; Adult and Geriatric. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history, including clinical documentation, prior to performing procedure. Documents all relevant information on patient record and department files. Explains procedure to patient and assists patient throughout procedure. Prepares contrast media for administration. Practices sterile techniques as required and observes infection control procedures. Responsible for the correct identification of patients Assists physicians in performance of examinations. Demonstrates competence in operating ionizing radiation producing CT equipment minimizing radiation to patient, staff, self, while maximizing image quality. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent Must be a graduate of an accredited two-year program in radiologic technology. Maintains the recommended CME by the ARRT. ARRT registration and NYS DOH Radiology license required; Advanced CT certification preferred Certified to inject and start IV for contrast injections required Knowledge and working experience in Computerized Axid Tomography preferred BLS required. No online programs from any organization will be accepted. Salary Range USD $61.48 - USD $61.48 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
