FlexStaff is seeking a part-time Administrative Support Assistant for our client, a neurology office in Port Jefferson, Suffolk County, NY.
The MRI Administrative Support Associate is responsible for providing exceptional administrative support within the MRI department, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. This role involves greeting and registering patients, managing appointment scheduling, verifying insurance details, and handling patient documentation.
Responsibilities
Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner
Verify and update insurance information to ensure proper billing practices.
Collect and log co-pays and fees, maintaining an accurate log of payments and ensuring the daily batch from credit card machines is correct.
Answer and transfer incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently.
Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments for new or current patients, confirming appointments and notifying staff of any changes.
Verify patient eligibility and coverage details with insurance providers
Prepare patient paperwork the day before appointments to ensure readiness.
Communicate with neurology offices to identify patients scheduled for MRI services at this location, maintaining clear lines of communication.
Performs related duties, as required.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
Previous experience in a medical office or administrative role, preferably in radiology or imaging.
Strong customer service skills
Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Familiarity with Konica and AdvancedMD systems
Flexibility with schedule when necessary

The salary range for this position is $20-$23/hour
