Job Description
General Purpose:
Responsible for scheduling work and directing a crew of Maintenance Technicians; train and provide work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more skilled trades. This position will be considered a working lead role.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assign work orders and provide direction to a crew of Maintenance Technicians.
Provide training, work direction and guidance as needed to ensure all work performed meets department and plant expectations.
Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies.
Ensure all assigned Preventative and Predictive Maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled. Continually analyze the effectiveness of these processes and implement improvements as needed.
Report to the Maintenance Supervisor regarding work completed. Refer unusual technical or personnel issues to the Production or Maintenance Supervisor as appropriate.
Provide input to performance reviews; monitor work of assigned crew members and ensure that expectations are being met.
Perform a variety of journey-level work in the maintenance and repair of plant facilities and production equipment; prioritize, schedule, assign and coordinate the work of assigned Maintenance Technicians to accomplish a wide variety of duties related to maintaining consistent optimal throughput of the plant without compromising quality.
Maintain various records related to labor, materials and work orders as required.
Assure compliance with appropriate safety and food safety practices / procedures.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Supports overall plant and DFA strategic initiatives as they are defined.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
BS Degree in related engineering field preferred
3 to 5 years technical engineering experience and management, in a plant manufacturing environment
A working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and process production engineering
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Scheduling, prioritizing and assigning work.
Appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
