Product Review Engineer – Shape the Future of Aerospace Manufacturing

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Mid-Level Product Review Engineer to join our team in Portland, OR . This onsite consulting role offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on in a dynamic factory environment, solving complex manufacturing and production challenges to ensure the highest quality aerospace components. Pay Rate: $51.73 – $64.90 per hour
Schedule: Variable shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd), including weekends
Location: Fully onsite in Portland, OR
What You’ll Do
As a Product Review Engineer , you will play a key role in ensuring aerospace production quality and efficiency . Your responsibilities will include:
Investigate and resolve production non-conformance issues through root cause analysis and engineering dispositions.
Apply design principles to support product and process improvements throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
Partner closely with production teams to identify and resolve technical and quality challenges .
Ensure compliance with engineering standards by working closely with suppliers and build partners .
Develop repair solutions for machined aerospace parts , ensuring structural integrity and performance.
Support design reviews, accident investigations, and aircraft repair teams .
Conduct static strength analysis and design interim structural repairs as needed.
Work in a hands-on factory environment , which includes high noise areas, chemical hazards, and direct engagement with aircraft components .
Participate in a 9-month Training Rotation Program , rotating between shifts and participating in potential travel assignments.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
5+ years of experience in structures, systems, design, or production engineering .
5+ years of experience with Material Review Board (MRB) processes .
Ability to work onsite full-time and rotate between first, second, and third shifts as needed.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for engineers with expertise in the following areas:
Materials & Manufacturing – Strong knowledge of steel, aluminum, and titanium properties, machining, and finishing processes.
Machining & Tolerancing – Experience with GD&T (True Position, Parallel Surface, Bonus Tolerance) and machining practices .
Gears & Shafts – Understanding of gear tables, spline profiles, fit-up requirements, and gear interaction principles .
Material Processing – Familiarity with heat treatment, plating, anodizing, and protective coatings .
Functional Testing – Ability to diagnose performance issues and interpret test results at the aircraft level .
Repair & Rework – Experience with bushing installations, heli-coils, corrosion protection, and refinishing techniques .

Pay Details: $51.73 to $64.90 per hour
