Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Clerk
Job Description
We are a custom equipment manufacturer specializing in serving industrial clients, particularly in the pulp and paper industry. We are seeking a dedicated shipping/receiving clerk with over 5 years of shipping and receiving experience with at least 2 years of international shipping experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations.
Responsibilities
Identify and count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments.
Prepare, print, and verify information for bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
Enter shipments into the Automated Export System with Homeland Security.
Determine the method of shipment as required or follow instructions from sales or customers.
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape.
Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
Route items to appropriate departments.
Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications and handle exportation documentation control while working with ACE compliance.
Assist with paperwork and compliance for international and domestic shipping logistics.
Apply knowledge of freight forwarding while working with customers and freight forwarding agents to fulfill shipment requirements.
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operate tier lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Essential Skills
5+ years of shipping/receiving experience with at least 2 years including international shipping.
Computer literacy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with inventory control.
Knowledge of forklift operation, packing, material handling.
Experience with data entry and managing bills of lading.

Work Environment
Our family-owned fabrication shop features a small team dedicated to building equipment used in the agriculture, manufacturing, and pulp and paper industries. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with day shifts running from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00
